1. Introduction
Welcome to Handy Tax. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website located at handy.tax (the "Site") and the services provided by Handy Tax Tools Ltd ("we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16490924.
By creating an account or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our services.
2. Description of Services
Handy Tax provides a suite of online software tools designed to assist UK individuals and small businesses with their tax obligations. Our services include, but are not limited to, a Making Tax Digital (MTD) VAT filing tool, an invoice generator, and various tax calculators (the "Services").
You acknowledge that Handy Tax is a software tool and does not provide professional tax, financial, or legal advice. You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the data you enter and submit to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).
3. User Accounts
To use most of our Services, you must register for an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process.
- Maintain the security of your password and accept all risks of unauthorized access to your account.
- Promptly notify us if you discover or otherwise suspect any security breaches related to the Services.
4. Subscriptions and Payments (Future Feature)
While some of our Services are free, access to premium features ("Handy Tax+") will require a paid subscription. The following terms will apply upon the launch of our subscription services:
- Billing Cycles: We will offer both monthly and yearly subscription plans. Fees will be billed in advance on a recurring basis.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. The cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will not be charged for the next period.
- Refunds: All subscription payments are non-refundable. No refunds or credits will be provided for partial subscription periods or unused Services.
5. Connecting to HMRC
Our VAT MTD filing service requires you to grant us authority to interact with HMRC on your behalf using the secure OAuth 2.0 protocol. By authorising this connection, you permit us to retrieve your VAT obligations, liabilities, and payments, and to submit VAT returns using the data you provide. We are not responsible for any errors, penalties, or issues arising from incorrect data you enter into a return.
6. User Responsibilities
You agree not to use the Services to:

- Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
- Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or user accounts.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Handy Tax Tools Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (a) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Services; (b) any conduct or content of any third party on the Services; or (c) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.
8. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to our Services immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease.

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
